High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. I usually love Applebee's. But this experience last week was horrible!!! My fiance and I both got the Shrimp and Parmasan Steak meal, he ordered his well done and mine medium well. We waited for about half an hour or so then we finally got our meal. My fiance cut into his and noticed that his steak was not done how he had ordered it. It was super pink in the middle and still bleeding. Mine was brown on the outside but was completely RAW in the middle! I had already taken a bit when I realized this. Instantly I felt sick! I ran to the bathroom while my fiance had our steaks taken back to be refired! Everything I had eaten prior, our awesome triple play appetizers, came right back up! We then requested to speak to the manager, who looked at us like "what do you want me to do about it?" like as though we had just to settle for having undercooked steaks! Luckily though after my fiance suggested it, the manager waived one of our meals but that was all! He didn't bother doing anything more for us since I got sick! To me this is HORRIBLE customer service! I can say for sure that we will not be frequenting there again!!

We have been 23 people and enjoyed it. The waters were great, her name is Tera and she was patient and fast. The food was good both for the kids and the adults And very well priced

The absolute worst service I've ever experienced in southern utah! Wish I could comment on the food but since we never had our order taken in the 30 minutes we were there on a boring Wednesday night we left and went to chilis

Ate there for dinner the other night and was not impressed. The steak was ordered med-rare and came out grey in the middle, the mashed potatoes were cold and the broccoli was damn near raw. The said they'd bring our cooked broccoli and never did and I sat with an empty drink for almost my whole meal. Worst par was that we were one of five tables with three servers on staff. Never go to that one again!

Came to this Applebee's location near closing time, not the best customer service you will get. The food was alright. The problem was that some of my food portion was missing and I notified them and they said it was out of stock. When I received the check, I was surprised that I had to pay the full price but missing portion of the food! Would not recommend here!

My husband & I were there last night. Traveling from CA to CO stopping in Cedar city for the night. I have to tell you, Utah is definitely different from any other place we've traveled. lol First & foremost......:) thanks Tarah for educating us. Tarah is friendly & nice! 5 stars just for her if you are lucky enough to have her as your waitress!!!!! Let me start by saying there is a Utah law.....yes law where you cannot order an alcoholic beverage without ordering food first! So if you are like us & like to have a cocktail while perusing the menu lol that ain't happening in Cedar City Applebee's Tarah explained & helped us with that......lol. My husband ordered a beer & I wanted anything with vodka....lol. Be warned their selection is not huge & you may have to settle for your 3rd favorite.....lol We got our drinks & my husband's beer was flat. Just so happened the manager was walking by :) checking on his customers & there we were. My husband explained the issue & the manager immediately rectified it. (1 star) Then we got our food. I had fish & chips....the hubby was jonesing for a steak. He ordered their 7oz honey pepper steak medium rare. Apparently Cedar City Utah Applebee's has a different definition for medium rare. We like to have our steak cook with a little pink in the center.....a little meat juice but when a steak leaves the kitchen & requires a tourniquet (lol) it's raw! The manager was very accommodating. He explained the way we ordered the steak is exactly what they call medium rare. Now I can only imagine what a rare steak looks like! Does it walk to your table on its own & commit suicide? The manager did rectified everything. (1 star) The overall experience without the couple issues was actually enjoyable. (1star) The waitstaff was friendly (thanks again Tarah!!! You get 5 stars all by yourself!!!) In all honestly I don't think we will be going there again. Utah is far from home & this California transplant was just passing through!

We were asked to wait ten minutes. We told them our name twice. After 15 minutes the people behind us were seated. They were a party of 5 and us a party of 2. We looked at their list and we weren't even on the list. We left.

First impression was a good one. The hostess Clara was very nice and helped us out with a back issue that required a soft seat. And she also kept us company while we waited for our table. But it unfortunately ended there. The red head with really short hair (didn't catch her name) however, had a bad attitude and rather enjoyed rolling her eyes. There are no refills on kids drinks of any kind! Normally it's just orange juice that they won't do but this location doesn't do ANY! I ordered the salmon and I can't eat some of the vegetables that come on the side and asked to switch it out with the garlic mashed potatoes and apparently that's something else they don't do?! I wasn't all that hungry to begin with so I just told the waitress that if they couldn't do the switch I would just stick with my water no big deal. Not in a b!tchy way, I was not paying for lunch and since I was just going to pick at it there wasn't much of a point. Well of course she brought it out with the mashed potatoes. But I REALLY wish she hadn't. My salmon was a rock hard on the outside. And tasted and had the texture like it was dropped inside a charcoal grill. The meat on the inside was okay I guess. Could have used a bit of moisture. They forgot the garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes. So it just tasted like red potato skin. My daughter's 4cheese mac n cheese and bread stick however had so much garlic that it burned her throat and gave her a headache!!! I love garlic but that was pretty gross. And they put some kind of honey/pepper covered fried chicken fingers on top and it made the Mac n cheese taste horrible. My husband said his burger was just, alright. Nothing special to write home about. Tables were clean. Menus were filthy, sticky and greasy. There was also a weird residue on the inside of the cups. I think I was at home for about a hour before the bathroom kept me company for the next hour or so as the food I just ate here made its way out very unpleasant like. I will NEVER eat here again and will NEVER recommend this location to anyone... EVER!!!

Run, run as fast as you can! Get in your car and go anywhere else. We have stopped a few times here on our way to Vegas or Cali. Not anymore. Two trips ago we tried it and the food was overcooked and dried out like yesterday's leftovers. This last time I got blackened chicken and my wife got shrimp Alfredo. My chicken was so dried out and hard, it was inedible. My wife's shrimp we rubbery and raw. We told manager no way! He offered to redo it and we just opted for the safer bet and went to Cafe Rio. I would recommend you do likewise.

We have been here 3 times hoping it would actually get better. It has not. The service is slow. The food is very poor. We have always liked this restaurant except here. The great inquisition about what you are going to drink starts as soon as the waiter finally makes it to the table. Had we not been sitting at a table for dinner I may have understood, all three times, that I must order food if I was going to have alcohol. The first question I should get should be about the great food and what appetizers I would like. Do yourself a favor and go to any other restaurants in the area.

I usually like Applebee's... But this one is just horrible. Everything about it is ridiculous. My family and I moved here from Southern California recently and we decided to try Applebee's on Super Bowl Sunday since we don't have cable yet. we waited about half an hour for seats (the restaurant was NOT busy AT ALL), then as soon as we were seated, douchebag McGee waiter took our drink order. Husband ordered JACK and coke (but waiter said it would be Pepsi since they don't have coke, fine..) then I ordered a blue moon. A server brought our drinks and they completely gave husband the wrong drink. It was a Rum and coke watered down. The waiter came back and we told him he ordered a jack and "Pepsi", the waiter then smart mouthed us and said, "uh no, you clearly said Rum and coke. But whatever"... Ok, this is why I named him douchebag McGee. Very professional. We then asked if there was any way he can turn the volume on the Tv's up so we can hear the game then tells us, "no, I can't turn off the music either, but I'll find a box for you." Come back with the sound box or whatever it is. It dies on us after 5 minutes. Anywho, we got our food, which was great.. The waiter then loosened up a bit after a while, but he still ruined it for himself in the beginning. Being the nice person that I am, I still tipped him 15%. I don't think we will be returning any time soon. If we do, we'll ask for another waiter/waitress.

Thought we'd give this Applebee's one more shot but was totally disappointed. Our waitress ignored us most of the time even though it was empty and the food tasted pretty bland. Definitely not going back to Applebee's, especially this one!

This right here is a real top notch establishment. I have been here over 10 times and have enjoyed every visit. The burgers are cooked excellently and they have a 5.99 burger and fry deal on Sundays and Mondays. May I recommend the quesadilla burger if you enjoy burgers. Sporting events are always on and it is a overall good environment.

Just stay away from this Applebees - there's better choices nearby - wish we had made a better choice. We have generally been satisfied with Applebees int he past, so with our two small kids along we though t we would try this one since we happened to be in Cedar City at dinner time. Host was terrible, vodka tonic was vodka water with olive, 90% of the food was not that great, service was slow, and I will never again eat at this Applebees. The only good dish we had was the fried green beans for an appetizer.

A week after our little experiment at Ninja we find ourselves back in Cedar City. There was now no way I could get out of a trip to Applebees. I see a jalapeno burger on the menu, read through the description. Candied jalapenos??? What the.. ???? I ask our server, Ben and he explains that the jalapenos are candied so it takes off some of the heat. What idiot thought up this idea?? The heat is EXACTLY why I'm ordering a jalapeno burger!!! Ben offers to substitute the real thing and I agree. The burger arrives and it's a bun, a patty, cheese and jalapenos. I explain that when I order a burger I assume it will include those real exotic toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion. Ben apologizes and happily retrieves all the fixins. So after 20 minutes and a total transformation of the horrible burger on the menu I enjoyed a wonderfully spicy burger piled high with all the standard burger happiness. Ben was great and I think he deserves a five star rating and a promotion for dealing with me. But why did it take 20 minutes of my harassing for Applebees to come up with a delicious burger when they had all the ingredients right in front of them? Ben you rock. Applebees you suck.

I stopped in here on the way back to Las Vegas from Jackson, Wyoming on a Sunday evening. I had the shrimp and spinach salad, hold the red peppers, which I have had at other Applebees locations. It was just as I expected, no peppers and just enough dressing. Our waiter was nice enough to change the channel of the tv for us so we could watch the Winter X-Games without hurting our necks. That was very much appreciated. If I ever find myself hungry in Cedar City, I'd go back to this Applebees.

I live in cedar city and have eaten at Applebee's several times. I have only had a bad service 1 time right after they opened. But since then it's been some of the best service in cedar city. No the food is a different subject all on its own. In January I ordered a 2 for 20 to go. I only live 5 min from Applebee's I showed up and the kid told me it was just coming out of the kitchen I waited another 5-1o min and got my food and drove the 5 minutes to my house. The food was cold and the queso cheese sauce was curdled. I called the manager and explained he apologized and gave me a free meal for my next visit. I ordered last night the same thing now I live about 10 min from Applebee's so I know to arrive early to to get my food hot. I got home and again the sane type of thing the fries were not hot and wilty, the ribs seemed to have come out of a frig. And was heated up on the grill. The bones were still cold. So if you do try Applebee's in cedar city, maker sure your food is cooked correctly. Oh I ended up going to a fast food place instead.

Surprising find in Cedar City. I don't usually go to Applebee's, but it was late at night and not many places were open. The food was good and the management and server were very attentive. It was a bit odd when we were led by the hostess to a table that had obviously been recently used as food and trash were all around and under the table. She appeared oblivious to the mess and acted put off when we asked her to have it cleaned up. After the cleaning, the meal was fine.
